The first Fish and Chip shops opened in 1860, with Malin’s in London and J Lees in Lancashire, both claiming to be the first shop. Shortly after this in 1865, with the popularity of Fish of chips becoming apparent across the UK and Ireland, Henry Nuttall Ltd was founded. The Original Frying Range manufacturer in the World.
The Company has held several ownerships since 1865, with humble beginnings it began trading from a small backstreet shop in Rochdale. Fast forward post-war, the company continued to go from strength to strength and any new chip shop in the area would become the proud possessor of a Nuttall's range. In the late 1930s the firm's success was such that it moved into new premises - Castle Works in Holmes Street.
Following on from the years of success, the company is now under family ownership, since 2007 with knowledgeable management and workforce, hosting over 30 years of experience within the industry. The home of Henry Nuttall now resides in Sheffield, in a brand new, state of the art factory from which all manufacturing takes place. Alongside this is a Bristol Office and Service centre, allowing us to cover the whole of the UK efficiently.
